At the invitation of the President of the Sofia Arbitration Court at the International Association for Justice and Arbitration, Maria Yaneva, Irina Girif, Secretary General of the International Court of Justice in Paris, visited the International Arbitration Chamber in Paris this week. The purpose of the visit was to agree on the signing of an international partnership agreement between the two arbitral tribunals.
2014-2015 were very detrimental to business, and especially to the construction industry. Many companies then turned to arbitration with the idea of resolving their disputes. When that happened, 70 cases were filed within two months. Each production is completed for up to 4 maximum up to 6 months. The 40-set of cases ended with an agreement. Something that is possible in the state court. Firstly, because the proceedings before the arbitration tribunal are one instance, secondly because it is much cheaper, thirdly, because it is effective. We will, within the framework of the agreement, specify deadlines in which these disputes will have to be resolved. There will be no waste of time. This was said today in the show Maria Yaneva, who was a special guest in “The Law and Themis”. Maria Yaneva is an international judge at the Moscow Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Sofia Arbitration Court at the MAFA Association, chairman of the International Association of Justice and Arbitration, and chair of the “I want a baby” foundation.
Listen to the topic in Anelia Toroshanova’s interview with Maria Yaneva. You will also hear the attorney Zahari Genov’s opinion on the arbitration proceedings.
